One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition is bringing the most recent Pirate Warriors game to the Switch. Developed by Omega Force, the series is a spin-off of their Warriors hack and slash series that focuses on the massively popular anime/manga, One Piece.

The third entry covers most of the series’ story quite in-depth, up to the Dressrosa Arc (that’s just over 700 episodes of anime). The Japanese One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition trailer focuses on standout moments for Luffy’s pirate crew, celebrating the long, long history of the series.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 follows on from other recent Bandai Namco ports to Switch, such as One Piece Unlimited World Red Deluxe, and Dragonball XenoVerse 2, which come with the game’s DLC all packed into the cart and ready to go.

While it wasn’t without flaws, I thought the original release was a great take on One Piece, and is quite possibly my favourite game to be based on the series.

The port looks like it’s packing most of the features of the original game, though it looks like graphically it might need to take a bit of a step down, which is sort of a shame given how great the original looked. But, we’ll reserve judgement until we get to see more raw footage of the game in motion on Switch, both docked and undocked.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition launches for Nintendo Switch this December in Japan, with a western release date yet to be announced.
